Dr. Amaraweera or “Dr. Amara” was born and raised in Vancouver,
British Columbia where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in
Biology at the University of British Columbia. She went on to
complete her Doctor of Optometry at Western University of Health
Sciences in sunny California. Dr.
Amaraweera completed her clinical rotations at reputable sites including Veterans
Hospital of Walla Walla, WA, Vision Center of West Phoenix, Jackson
Vision Clinic in Seattle and Alderwood Vision Therapy Clinic in
Lynnwood. Her
focus includes Primary Care, managing Ocular Disease, Contact Lenses
and Pediatric examinations.
She enjoys educating her patients about the importance of ocular
health while showing compassion towards her patient’s needs and
concerns. Dr. Amaraweera is fluent in English, Sinhalese, and can perform
a basic eye examination in Spanish. On her days off, Dr. Amaraweera enjoys spending time with her
energetic little boys and husband, running, skiing, trying different restaurants and traveling.
Dr. Huma Ahmad O.D.
Dr. Ahmad graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health
Sciences School of Optometry in 2018. She also holds a bachelor's degree in
biology from St. John's University in Queens, NY where she was born and
raised. She completed her clinical rotations at the Villages VA Hospital in
Florida and Omni Eye in New Jersey, where her focus was primary care and
ocular disease. Since graduating she has had experience in both an optical
setting and an ocular disease practice at Fromer Eye Centers MD/OD referral
center in New York City. As a clinician, she is constantly striving to
enhance her skills and eager to explore new studies and evolving techniques
in optometry. In addition to professional experience, she has participated in mission
trips in Nicaragua and Mexico, where she provided eye exams to patients in
need. The ability to contribute to the well-being of others with compassion
and empathy is very important to her. Dr. Ahmad speaks Spanish fluently and
is conversational in Urdu/Hindi. When not in clinic, you can find Dr. Ahmad
enjoys cooking, hiking, ice skating and traveling.
Dr. Sarah Henderson O.D.
Dr. Henderson grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduation, she moved to the Seattle area and enjoys seeing a wide variety of patients. Dr. Henderson has been on five medical mission trips across Central America, providing eye care to those who would otherwise go without. In her free time, she loves being active, exploring the Pacific Northwest, and traveling to see family and friends.
Dr. Arabella Arabejo
Dr. Arabejo was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from Boston University, double majoring in neuroscience and psychology. She then earned her Doctorate of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry, where she rotated through community health centers, private practices, and a veterans affair hospital. Dr. Arabejo recently moved to Seattle and is still exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Outside of seeing patients, Dr. Arabejo enjoys cooking, baking, watching films and traveling.
