Harshani Dr. Harshani Amaraweera O.D.

Dr. Amaraweera or “Dr. Amara” was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of British Columbia. She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences in sunny California. Dr. Amaraweera completed her clinical rotations at reputable sites including Veterans Hospital of Walla Walla, WA, Vision Center of West Phoenix, Jackson Vision Clinic in Seattle and Alderwood Vision Therapy Clinic in Lynnwood. Her focus includes Primary Care, managing Ocular Disease, Contact Lenses and Pediatric examinations. She enjoys educating her patients about the importance of ocular health while showing compassion towards her patient’s needs and concerns. Dr. Amaraweera is fluent in English, Sinhalese, and can perform a basic eye examination in Spanish. On her days off, Dr. Amaraweera enjoys spending time with her energetic little boys and husband, running, skiing, trying different restaurants and traveling.


Dr. Annie Yu

Dr. Annie Yu O.D.

Dr. Yu is originally from Seattle, WA where she completed her Bachelor's degree in Physiology from University of Washington, and her Doctor of Optometry with distinction at Pacific University in Oregon. Dr. Yu completed her clinical rotations at Spokane VA Hospital, Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute, Banglor Health Clinic and the Optometric Vision Development Center in San Diego. She has spent the past few years practicing at Broadway Vision Clinic in Capitol Hill and now joins the team here in Ballard! Her focus includes Primary Vision Care, Specialty Contact Lens fittings for Keratoconus and Scleral lenses as well as, Ocular Disease and Dry Eye Management. Dr. Yu is fluent in English and conversationally proficient in Mandarin Chinese, she is an active member of the American Academy of Optometry, Optometric Physicians of WA and King County Optometric Society.
